SOPForge — Help & Guide

Turn a short process description into a complete, standard-aligned Standard Operating Procedure — then edit and export it in minutes.

Getting started

  1. Create your account at sopforge.dropfeed.io with your email and a password. You start on the Free plan — 3 SOPs per month, no credit card required.
  2. Start a new SOP. Click New SOP and give it a title (e.g., "Final Inspection of Machined Housings").
  3. Pick your quality standard and add a few details — department, a plain-English process description, and optionally scope, equipment, and known hazards. The more detail you give, the better the draft.
  4. Generate. Click Generate SOP. SOPForge writes purpose, scope, responsibilities, procedure steps, safety, and records — structured the way your standard expects. This counts as one SOP toward your monthly limit.
  5. Review & edit. Every section is editable. Refine wording, add or remove steps and roles, and fill in any [BRACKET] placeholders. Your changes save automatically.
  6. Export. Click Export Word or Export PDF to download a formatted document ready for review and approval.

Choosing your quality standard

The standard you pick shapes how the SOP is written — the records, controls, and verification it references. SOPForge includes ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and API Q1 as ready options. Need something else? Choose Other and type any customer-specific or industry standard, and the draft will align to it.

SOPForge never invents specific measurements, torque specs, or part numbers. When a value is process-specific and unknown, it writes a clear placeholder in [BRACKETS] for your process owner to fill in.

The document-control block

Every SOP includes the controlled-document details an auditor expects. Set these at the top of the editor:

Editing your SOP

Open any SOP with Edit to change it, or View to read it without risk of editing. Inside the editor you can rewrite any section, and add or remove responsibilities, procedure steps, materials, safety notes, and records. Removing a row asks you to confirm first, so you can't delete by accident. Everything autosaves as you type — the status indicator shows "Saving…" then "Saved."

Exporting to Word & PDF

Export Word downloads a .docx you can drop straight into your document system. Export PDF opens a print-ready view — use your browser's Print dialog and choose "Save as PDF."

Tip: in the print dialog, open More settings and uncheck Headers and footers to remove the browser's URL and date stamps, so your PDF starts cleanly with the SOP title and document-control block.

Plans & usage

Pricing is flat and monthly — no per-credit metering:

Your usage bar in the sidebar shows how many you've used this month; limits reset at the start of each calendar month. Manage your plan under Plan & billing — upgrades and cancellations run through Stripe, and you can cancel anytime.

Frequently asked questions

Is the output audit-ready?

Each SOP includes the full document-control block and exports as a formatted Word or PDF document. You review and approve it as your controlled document — SOPForge writes the draft, you own the final.

Can I use a standard that isn't listed?

Yes. Choose Other in the Quality standard field and type any standard; the SOP will be written to align with it.

What happens to unused SOPs at month end?

Allowances reset each calendar month and don't roll over.

Does editing by hand use a generation?

No. Only generating a new SOP counts toward your limit. Editing an existing SOP is always free.

How do I cancel?

Go to Plan & billing and manage your subscription through Stripe. Cancelling stops future billing.
